George Clinical welcomes the recent announcement by our partner organization, West Cancer Center of their intention to join OneOncology in January 2019. The announcement sees a departure from their existing relationship with Methodist Le Bonheur Healthcare, an affiliation they have held since 2011. The affiliation with OneOncology will place West Cancer Center as a nationally significant research center and represent a significant step towards National Cancer Institute (NCI) designation eligibility.
OneOncology, a partnership of independent community oncology practices, finance, and technology experts, will see a significant increase in investment in cutting-edge research, clinical trials, and treatment protocols. West Cancer Center, Tennessee Oncology and New York Cancer & Blood Specialists are the founding members of the group.
“We’re excited to join the dynamic new model at OneOncology,” Dr. Lee Schwartzberg, West Cancer Center’s executive director, and George Clinical Scientific Leader said. “Today’s challenging and complex health care landscape requires that we build new solutions that advance our mission to provide dedicated, clinical excellence with a focus on the latest, most innovative personalized treatment plans.”
Along with these recent developments, West Cancer Center will continue its highly innovative collaboration with George Clinical.
“George Clinical welcomes this significant agreement between West Cancer Center and OneOncology,” Sean Hart, Managing Director USA and Global Head of Late Phase Studies said. “We wholeheartedly support the innovative approach to oncology trials championed by our scientific leads at West Cancer Center. This is a win for oncology research and most importantly a win for patients.”
