George Clinical Scientific Leader Dr. Lee Schwartzberg has been named among the Best Doctors in America List published by Teladoc. Schwartzberg, based in Memphis, TN, is a member of the scientific leadership team with an oncology focus.
Harvard Medical School physicians founded Best Doctors in 1989 as a global benefits provider and medical information services resource that connects individuals facing difficult medical treatment decisions with the best doctors, selected by impartial peer review in more than 450 medical specialties to review their diagnosis and treatment plans.
“Best Doctors’ team of researchers conducts a biennial poll using the methodology that mimics the informal peer-to-peer process doctors themselves use to identify the right specialists for their patients. Using a polling method and proprietary balloting software, they gather the insight and experience of tens of thousands of leading specialists all over the country, while confirming their credentials and specific areas of expertise,” according to the Memphis Flyer.
The resulting resource is the Best Doctors in America® List, which includes the nation’s most respected specialists and primary care physicians. As this list is comprised of physicians naming physicians, they cannot pay a fee to be listed not can they nominate or vote for themselves.
Schwartzberg is a medical oncologist and hematologist, senior partner and medical director at the community-based private practice West Cancer Center. He serves as the Division Chief of Hematology/Oncology and Professor of Medicine at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
